ARTS ALIVE OAK BAY
ArtsAlive is Oak Bay Parks, Recreation and Culture’s annual public sculpture program where pieces are selected to be shown outdoors in our municipality for approximately one year.
Thirteen new installations have been selected by the Public Art Committee for 2017, with artists selected through a public call. The sculptures are on display for one year. The sculpture with the most votes from the public is honored with the People’s Choice Award, and will be considered for possible purchase (for fair market value, to a maximum of $18,000) by the Municipality of Oak Bay to become part of its permanent public art collection.
Deposit your ballot in any ArtsAlive ballot box located on Oak Bay Avenue, Estevan Village, or at Oak Bay Recreation Centre. Votes can also be cast using the QR codes on the side of the ballot box or on the plaques next to each sculpture. Voting ends November 1, 2017.
Guided art tours of the sculptures will be offered during Arts & Culture Week (August 13-19);
